Daimler says Xie Xie
Awards are not new in the Chinese truck market for Daimler AG: At the end of 2016, Auman EST won the "Chinese Truck of the Year," which was awarded for the first time. Now Daimler has even given out awards: ten vendors who have impressed with top performances.
Daimler Greater China Ltd. celebrated the successful cooperation with its Chinese vendors in a festive ceremony in Shanghai. In addition to top managers from Global Procurement Trucks and Buses and supplier quality, high-ranking representatives from around 60 vendors came to the Kempinski Hotel.
It's great to see how the number of Chinese vendors grows year after year.
The importance of the good partnership with the vendors for the long-term success of Daimler Greater China Ltc. was explained by Jan Kroenig, purchasing manger for Global Chassis and Jörg Reiting, purchasing manager of Daimler Greater China Ltd.
At the end, the Daimler representatives gave a big “xie xie” (Chinese for: “thank you”) to all Chinese vendors, in whose culture appreciation and gratitude are valued just as much as at Daimler.
Suppliers who can deliver top quality are the alpha and omega of the success of Daimler Trucks and Buses in the Chinese market.
China is by far the largest automobile market in the world - for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
Since January 1, Daimler has therefore anchored its truck activities in the Chinese market at the top management level (divisional board) of Daimler Trucks and Buses. At the start of the year, Sven Ennerst took over responsibility for the truck business of Daimler Trucks in China – both for the local production of Beijing Foton Daimler Automotive (BFDA) on site as well as for the import business of Daimler Trucks and Buses China (DTBC).
