The Daimler Supplier Magazine Online went online in mid-January 2016 as a complement to the printed magazine and a modern platform for current issues, presented in an appealing format and with optimized access for mobile end devices. Since then, user numbers have risen constantly.

Potential and existing suppliers should receive up-to-date information from the source. In order to achieve this goal, editors from Daimler’s three procurement units got together to launch the Daimler Supplier Magazine Online a year ago. Events for and with suppliers, such as the Supplier Days held by Passenger Car Procurement in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Project meetings such as the Supplier Forum regarding the Heavy Duty Engine Platform for Commercial Vehicles Procurement, or the Daimler Supplier Award for all procurement units. Projects such as plant expansions, for example in Tuscaloosa, the new construction of the Sprinter plant in Charleston, USA, or the new Supplier Database. Products with contributions from suppliers, such as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class or the electric truck. These are some of the big stories that the Online Magazine reported on in 2016. It also featured interviews with Daimler’s top management, supplier portraits, on-site visits, and special reports from trade fairs such as the IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover.

29,000 visitors since April

Around 29,000 users read the magazine between April 2016 (when the number of views was first recorded) and January 2017. There were around 39,000 visits during this period. Most users are in Germany but there are also significant numbers in the US, Turkey, the UK, and other countries.

IPS is reporting on the Mercedes-Benz Learning Academy in East London, a modern technical training center, which was developed in co-operation with the supplier Kuka AG. And a decision regarding who will receive this year’s Daimler Supplier Award is being made on February 23.
