They were all there. The top managers of all Indonesian suppliers of Daimler Trucks. At the first Supplier Day of Mercedes-Benz Indonesia in the capital city of Jakarta.
Build up trust as a basis for a long-term strategic partnership. That was the goal of the Supplier Day. Markus Villinger, Head of “Industrialization of Daimler Commercial Vehicles Daimler Southeast Asia” provided the 70 guests with an introduction to the dual marketing strategy of Daimler in Indonesia. The dual strategy connects the Mitsubishi FUSO and Mercedes-Benz brands and is to give sales further momentum across the complete range of light-duty trucks, medium-duty trucks and heavy-duty trucks. After all, Daimler is to remain Number 1 in the Indonesian market.
Frithjof Noeth, Head of Procurement of Daimler Trucks & Buses Asia elaborated on the growth history of Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA). DTA is present in all important Asian markets and thus has a decisive competitive advantage. What this means for the Indonesian suppliers is that it’s time to embark on the journey towards growth.
